Apache to buy us1.3-bil in BP producing assets

Big E&P independent Apache, in its largest deal ever, has agreed to buy us1.3-bil in BP producing assets in the UK North Sea and US Gulf of Mexico, the companies said Jan 13. The transaction would open a new core area in the North Sea for the exploitaton-minded Apache, while strengthening the company's already considerable position on the US Gulf's continental shelf.
