Low utilisation rates in semis plants amid weak orders

Official semis production in November saw a record-high of 2.13m tonnes. CRU's view is that the figure is overstated as this is not in line with our understanding of the situation in semis production and demand. Our Beijing analysts have spoken with semis producers in China and all of them reported weaker orders and low utilisation rates (around 60%).
