Oman Oil & Kuwait Petroleum Sign MoU For Duqm Refinery, PC Complex Project

Muscat— Oman Oil Co. (OOC) and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which KPI will invest in the development of the Duqm refinery and petrochemical complex in the Duqm Special Economic Zone in Oman (PCN, 6 Oct 2014, p 2). OOC and International Petroleum Investment Co. (IPIC) formed Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Co. in 2012 to undertake the project, which involves a 230,000-b/d refinery and petrochemicals production in a subsequent phase. Earlier reports anticipated completion of the refinery by 2017.
