Oman Oil and Kuwait Petroleum break ground on Duqm complex in Oman

Oman Oil Co. and Kuwait Petroleum International, partners in the $7billion Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries (DRPI) joint venture (JV) project in Oman, have held a ground-breaking ceremony. The project includes a 230,000-b/d refinery and is the largest cross-border Gulf Cooperation Council investment in the downstream sector. A major petrochemical complex is planned downstream of the refinery. Financing for the project, amounting to $4.8 billion, has been obtained from international banks.
