Foster Wheeler Wins Petrobras Contract For Brazilian Gas Chemicals Complex

Linhares- Petrobras has awarded Foster Wheeler a contract for Com-plexo Gas-Quimico UFN-IV, described as a world-scale gas-to-chemicals complex to be built in Linhares, Espirito Santo State, southeast Brazil. The complex will produce over 1-million t/y of ammonia, urea, methanol, acetic acid, formic acid and melamine. The contract, for which a value was not disclosed, covers basic engineering design, front-end engineering design, technical assistance and training during the engineering, procurement and construction phase through to successful completion of the plant performances tests. The basic engineering design and front-end engineering design phase is scheduled for completion at the end of 2013.
