摘要

Saudi Arabia's apparent support for a global deal to cap production was thrown into question Friday following comments by a top royal official suggesting a harder line on Iran. Oil prices that had rallied above $40, partially on hopes of a global pact between Opec and non-Opec this month, fell sharply in response. Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the second in line to the Saudi throne, was quoted as saying his country would participate in the so-called freeze deal only if Iran does as well - a tough line on the issue that had been taken previously by Riyadh, but which had softened in messaging over the past few weeks (OD Mar.22'16).
