Mozambique LNG Sanctioning Imminent?

Thailand's PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) says the partners in Anadarko-led Mozambique LNG expect to make a final investment decision (FID) on the project this year despite the global gas supply glut and challenging economics. PTTEP CEO Somporn Vongvuthipornchai told analysts in a meeting on Monday the partners are doing preparatory work for the FID, including LNG marketing and finalization of remaining commercial contracts. PTTEP has an 8.5% stake in the proposed 12 million ton/ yr LNG plant and its affiliate, Thai state PTT, is expected to take 2.6 million tons/yr of the LNG.
