Canadian Upstream M&A Picks Up in June

Canadian upstream M&A activity reached C $2.7 billion (US$2.1 billion) in June and featured seven deals worth more than C$100 million -- a number not seen since September 2014, when crude prices were north of $90. The resurgence in M&A value comes on the back of "an upward trending [West Texas Intermediate] oil price that surpassed $50 per barrel during the month," according to consultancy CanOils, which issues a monthly report on Canadian M&A activity.
