Russia's Gazprom on Wednesday announced it was stopping deliveries of natural gas to Ukraine after Kiev failed to make a new prepayment, prompting Chief Executive Alexei Miller to say the situation threatens the stability of gas supplies to Europe. Ukraine fired a rebuttal within hours, with Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk ordering state - owned Naftogaz Ukrainy to cease purchases of all Russian gas. "They're confused," he said of the Russians. "It's not they who have stopped supplying us with gas, but we who have stopped buying gas from them," he added.
