Cabot Expands in Eagle Ford, Atlas Makes Its Entry

Cabot Oil & Gas is expanding its position in the Eagle Ford Shale, while natural gas producer Atlas Resource Partners has separately announced its entry into the prolific South Texas play through an acquisition of oil assets. Cabot said it has struck a deal with an undisclosed seller to acquire about 30,000 net acres in the Eagle Ford for roughly $210 million, bringing its total leasehold in the play to 83,000 net acres.
