If he is elected president, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will move quickly to scrap what he views as road blocks that obstruct oil and gas exploration and energy infrastructure projects, a campaign adviser told a gathering in Washington on Wednesday. Speaking at the same event, an adviser to Barack Obama countered that the incumbent president deserves credit for several major energy policy milestones attained since he took office in January 2009. These include accelerated fuel economy standards, the creation of an inter-agency natural gas working group and recent increases in domestic oil production (OD Jun.22'12).
