Gas was reported to be flowing normally on Wednesday through the Enrico Mattei (Transmed) pipeline, despite an attack on the line — which moves Algerian gas via Tunisia to Italy — in Tunisia on Monday afternoon. Tunisia’s state Tap news agency said on Tuesday that the attempted sabotage involved explosive devices in the village of Bouachira, in Zaghouan governorate south of the capital, Tunis, but that the “criminal act caused no significant human or material damage,” according to the interior ministry and Tunisia’s pipeline service company, Sergaz. Meeting on Tuesday, the Tunisian cabinet “emphasized the gravity” of the incident, it said.
