Leadership and resuscitation: Attention must be paid!-with apologies to Arthur Miller

In the funeral requiem to Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, Linda Loman plaintively cries, "Attention must be paid!" Willy Loman, a decent man by all accounts, dies an ignominious death, a failure in life and business. His grieving wife demands respect for her fallen husband. It is time for cardiac arrest teams to get the attention and respect that Willy never had. Cardiac arrest teams are often treated as the runts of the litter in the medical establishment, especially in regard to their management and leadership.
