We surveyed 429 HIVþ MSM (15 of whom alsornreported having sex with women) in care at sixrnpublic HIV clinics in California. Analyses assessedrnthe prevalence of unprotected anal or vaginalrnintercourse (UAV) in the prior three months amongrnthose who used sildenafil (versus not) during thernsame time period. Further, we sought to determinernwhether the sexual behaviour of sildenafil usersrnvaried by (a) whether men obtained the medicationrnvia prescription from their HIV care providerrn(versus other sources) and (b) whether menrnreported sexual dysfunction from HIV infection orrnits treatment (versus not).
