Bahrain-based investment bank Capivest plans to create a 1-billion dollars company that will build a magnesium smelter in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Capivest signed an agreement on July 14 with the TRU Group Inc, which will oversee the technical and engineering arm of the project. A location for the smelter has yet to be announced but a bankable feasibility study (BFS) has already been completed to build and operate a smelter with a capacity of 30,000-60,000 tpy.
