Turks pay 20 dollars more for new ferrous scrap cargoes

Turkish mills have booked new ferrous scrap cargoes at prices up to 20 dollars per tonne higher than a fortnight ago but European merchants fear they will be priced out of that market due to the weakening dollar. The most recent cargo booking reported to MB was from a US east coast merchant to a Turkish mill at 458.75 dollars per tonne cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 (80:20) and 462.75 dollars per tonne for shredded material, in the highest of four deals reported to MB in the past week for early April delivery.
