Russian Aluminium (Rusal) has been ordered by a UK court to pay 3.47 million dollars for failing to honour a legal agreement covering the running of the Friguia alumina refinery and bauxite complex in Guinea, West Africa. The money was due to Tekron Resources for its services as an intermediary representing the interests of Guinea Investment Co (GIC), the holding company for the refinery's owners including Rusal, to the government of Guinea.
