US coke makers demand harsh measures against imports

A small group of US merchant blast furnace coke producers and the United Steelworkers union are asking for sky-high duties to be imposed in an anti-dumping case against imports from China and Japan.The filing came on the heels of the announced scope of the section 201 investigation into steel imports, which did not include coke, pig iron or iron ore imports. USW president Leo Gerard said he was disappointed the investigation avoided looking at "inputs" into steelmaking.
