The arrangement (10) has a measuring head (13) provided with two measuring modules (14) for formation of a measuring section. A continuous strand passage channel (15) extends in the head in a conveyance direction (F). A strand guiding unit is attached to the head, and the modules are connected to an evaluation unit (18). The modules are arranged in a common housing (19) of the head. The modules are attached at a base plate (20) of the housing over electrical or pneumatic plug connections. Multiple slots (21) are pluggable with module carriers (22) according to partial free slot selection. An independent claim is also included for a strand units for manufacturing strands and/or strand portions in a tobacco processing industry.
