摘要

The elegant design, functionalization, and thorough characterization of nanostructured materials allows for their investigation as biomedical devices such as drug delivery vessels, biological sensors, imaging agents, and tissue culture matrices and for many other applications. The abilities to construct precisely and characterize accurately these materials are of great importance as nanoobjects become tools for the investigation of complicated biological assemblies and important components of treatment strategies for various disease states.
