European Union member-states once again failed to agree on authorizing five new biotech com varieties for import and on renewing approval for another, it emerged at a Agriculture Council meeting, June 29, in Luxembourg.Despite positive health and environmental assessments of the six varieties by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), member-states remained locked in familiar patterns and couldn't form a qualified majorityfor or against authorization.
