Philippines: Imports remain strong

The Philippines’ reported July imports of sulphuric acid were up 96% year on year at 51,958 mt, leaving the January-July volume up 137% at 471,831 mt, according to IHS GTA data. Effectively all of the July tonnes came from Japan. The country’s imports are forecast to remain high in order to support production at the Taganito nickel mine.
