Brazil: Phosphate rock imports decline 20%

Brazil's imports of phosphate rock in the first four months of the calendar year declined 20% from the same period a year earlier, according to customs data via GTIS. Rock imports reached 666,000 mt January through May, down from 829,000 mt in the same period of 2015. Shipments from Peru fell to 400,000 mt from 489,000 mt. OCP rock volumes decreased to 211,000 mt from 291,000 mt and arrivals from Algeria declined to just 48 mt from 45,000 mt. Still, rock imports from Israel's ICL increased to 55,000 mt from 6,000 mt previously.
