The Aurubis Group reported a net income for the first half of its financial year 2015-2016 of ?29.5 million ($33.8 million), down 77% from the same period in 2014-2015. The company’s revenues for the six month period were down to ?4.7 billion from ?5.5 billion. It noted that low copper scrap supply and an oversupply on the global sulphuric acid markets placed price pressure on the results, although there were positive effects from increased treatment and refining charges for copper concentrates with a good throughput at the same time, robust sales of copper products and the strong US dollar.
