Mitsubishi awarded construction contract for Uzbekistan Navoiazot ammonia plant

A new ammonia and urea complex project at Uzbekistan chemicals company Navoiazot is progressing with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries awarded the construction tender. Both sides are currently discussing contract terms for the project that was first announced in 2014. Construction is expected to begin this year. The new complex will have capacity to produce 660,000 mt/year ammonia and 577,500 mt/year urea following an investment of $961.74 million, according to the Investment Programme of Uzbekistan for 2015.
