Fertilizer/acid production suspended in Tunisia

Following last week's report of further disruption to rock supplies due to the strike by transport workers since mid-December, operations at GCT's production sites at Gabes, Safax, M'dhilla and Tifert have now all been temporarily suspended due to insufficient rock supplies. Employees of CPG also went on strike, as of Monday, January 12, in protest over the failure by the government to pay them the company employee's bonus due for both 2012 and 2013. Production at the rock mines at Metlaoui, M'dhilla, Om Laarayes and Redayef is said to have been affected, according to the most recent press reports.
