CNPC subsidiary joins Mozambique- South Africa pipeline venture

China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPP), a subsidiary of China’s state-owned CNPC, and two international firms have signed a co-operation agreement with South Africa’s SacOil to develop an estimated USD 6 billion gas pipeline linking Mozambique to South Africa. Mozambique state oil company Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos and a consortium of private investors known as Protin also signed the non-binding deal, which supercedes a previous agreement [1] between SacOil and state investment funds from South Africa and Mozambique.
