Karoon Gas has expanded its Bilby-1 oil discovery in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil. The operator has now firmed up a potential gross column of around 1,837ft (560m) and a proven oil column of 1,050ft (320m). A total of seven oil samples have been recovered to the surface, with one opened for early oil quality assessment. This has shown 33° API gravity oil.
