GoM umbilicals depth record

The Chevron-operated Jack and St. Malo oil and gas fields in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM) have seen “the deepest installation to date” for Nexans’ power umbilicals that integrate HV power supply and umbilical functions within a single cable cross-section. The umbilicals were installed at a water depth of 2,100m (6,890ft). The Jack and St. Malo fields are located within 40km of each other around 450km south of New Orleans, Louisiana.
