Statoil has started drilling the 16/2-18 S exploration well on the Cliffhanger North prospect at the Johan Sverdrup discovery offshore Norway. The new well is planned to further increase reserve potential at the large Johan Sverdrup find. The 16/2-18 S well is being drilled by semi-submersible rig Ocean Vanguard on the western fault margin of Johan Sverdrup in Production Licence 265 (PL 265), which is operated by Statoil.
