Australia’s Oil Search has encountered hydrocarbons with the Taza-1 ST-2 well in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. Oil Search hit hydrocarbons in the secondary primary target of the well, which is the Euphrates formation. The firm said on that its forward plan for the well was to carry out a test on the entire open-hole section, which includes the Euphrates formation and part of the Dhiban formation.
