Output Cut Committee Sets Date for First Meeting

A committee set up by Opec and non-Opec countries to monitor the recently agreed oil production cuts is set to meet on Jan. 21-22 to put in place a mechanism to monitor compliance, Kuwait's oil minister said Wednesday. The meeting will be held in Vienna, Essam al-Marzouk, who only took over Kuwait's oil portfolio earlier this month, said in a statement carried by Kuwaiti state news agency Kuna (IOD Dec.16'16). He added that Opec's Secretary General Mohammed Barkindo would be visiting Kuwait on Jan. 9.
