摘要

Iran may impose a ban on its exports of oil and gas if international sanctions are not lifted in the event that Tehran and Western powers reach a final deal in nuclear talks, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned on Wednesday. Negotiation teams from Iran and a group of Western powers known as the P5+1 are working out how to break the diplomatic deadlock over the country's controversial nuclear program. The main sticking points are the extent of uranium enrichment allowable by Iran under any deal and how to guarantee removal of sanctions. An end-June deadline has been set for a final deal -- a date that both sides have indicated is unlikely to be extended. But Khamenei, Iran's highest authority and a conservative ideologue who harbors a deep distrust of the West, has repeatedly issued warnings about what he says is the duplicity of the US.
