China will this year start full construction of its section of the pipeline route that will deliver 38 billion cubic meters per year of Russian natural gas from East Siberia, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at the weekend. He also confirmed a deal for another 30 Bcm/ yr of Russian gas would be signed in 2015 amid a further deepening of ties with its oil - and gas - rich neighbor in spite of Western sanctions on Moscow ( IOD Nov.11'14 ).
