Russia-Saudi Meet Avoids Topic of Oil Prices

Moscow and Riyadh did not discuss coordinated efforts to respond to low oil prices during a meeting of the Russia-Saudi Arabia intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation in the Russian capital on Thursday. The meeting comes about a week before the Opec summit in Vienna on Dec. 4 and oil markets were watching closely for any sign that the world's two largest crude oil producers might cooperate to try to prop up prices, which have tumbled under $50 per barrel.
