Lukoil’s facilities at the giant West Qurna-2 oil field in Iraq were broken into Monday by angry Iraqis demanding jobs, the Russian oil company confirmed. However, Lukoil doesn’t see any threat to its work schedule and the planned start up of production from the field at the end of this year. "The situation is under control. There are no victims or damages," a Lukoil spokesman told International Oil Daily. "We don’t see any threat to the project. The incident will not influence the targeted dates," he added, allowing that work would stop for some days.
