摘要

Polish state-led PGNiG said Monday that it last week began drilling what it expects to be its deepest-ever well, Dukla-1, designed to reach 5.5 km. The well has been spudded on its wholly owned license in the Carpathian mountains of southeastern Poland near the town of Dukla. PGNiG believes potential reserves may total 700 MMcm of conventional natural gas and 2.5 million tons of oil, of which about 500 MMcm of gas and 500,000 tons of oil are recoverable. It reckons the well, being drilled by a subsidiary, will cost 70 million zloty ($24.6 million) and take 11 months. If successful, it will drill a second well.
