Technip Wins Qatar Plant Feed

Qatar has awarded France's Technip the front-end engineering and design (Feed) contract for the expansion of its Ras Laffan condensate refinery, operator Qatargas said Thursday. The expansion will double capacity from 146,000 b/d to 292,000 b/d and will be fully operational by the first quarter of 2016, the company says. The Feed work is scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2012, while the engineering, procurement and construction contract is expected to be awarded by the third quarter of 2012, Qatargas says.
