Seadrill, Diamond Order Deepwater Units

Offshore drilling contractors Seadrill and Diamond Offshore Drilling have kicked the new year off with a combined $1.8 billion in orders for ultra-deepwater drilling units - one drillship and two semisubmersibles. Seadrill accounted for the lion's share of the value of the new orders, announcing it will buy two ultra-deepwater semisub- mersibles from Jurong Shipyard in Singapore for $1.2 billion.
