Iraq Awards Pipe Consultancy

Iraq has signed a consultancy contract valued at around $13.5 million with Canada's SNC Lavalin Group for a strategic oil export pipeline, Iraq's oil minister said on Tuesday. The 18 month contract with SNC Lavalin, Canada's largest engineering and construction company, includes pipeline design, feasibility studies and preparation of tender documents for a pipeline project from oil fields in southern Basrah province to neighboring Syria and Turkey.
