UK-listed EnQuest will become operator of the Crawford oil field and Porter oil discovery in the northern UK North Sea after acquiring a majority stake in Block 9/28a-Area B from Fairfield Energy. EnQuest increased its holding from 19% to 51% -subject to government and partner approvals -as part of a farm-in agreement with Fairfield that will see it pick up certain development costs up to a maximum of £34.85 million ($56.9 million). EnQuest acquired its initial 19% stake when it bought Stratic Energy last August. Fairfield will hang on to 20%, while the remaining 29% is held by Valiant Petroleum.
