摘要

UK independent EnQuest has reported an escape of oil into the sea from one of two large storage tanks it is removing from its now out-of-production Thistle Alpha platform in the UK northern North Sea. The oil leak, which occurred on 2 June, was reported by EnQuest in a filing to the Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment & Decommissioning (Opred). The revelation comes as Italian contractor Saipem this week began work to lift off the tanks - each weighing 1200 tonnes and about as long as a football pitch- using its Saipem 7000 heavy-lift vessel, and lay them on the seabed before they are removed to shore at a later date.
