OMV Exits Italy

Austria's OMV has announced the sale of its Italian retail arm, comprising 99 filling stations in northeastern Italy, to regional product wholesaler and storage operator San Marco Petroli; no financial details were disclosed. Because Italian antitrust approval is required, completion is scheduled for early 2010 (IOD Feb.24,p8). San Marco Petroli, based just outside Venice, is already one of the main suppliers to OMV Italia and will continue to operate the retail network.
