Effects of Microwave Treatment on Chemical Compositions of Tobacco Stems

摘要

To illustrate the effects of microwave treatment on the quality character of tobacco stem, the changes of cell wall substances, conventional chemical compositions and aromatic components in tobacco stems were studied for K326 and Hongda. The contents of cell wall substances and most of conventional chemical compositions showed a decrease in different degree after microwave expansion, while the petroleum ether extract were greatly increased. Seventy six aromatic components consisting of 19 aldehydes, 23 ketones, 7 alcohols, 5 acids, 4 phenols, 6 esters, 10 heterocycles and 2 olefins were indentified by GC-MS analysis in tobacoo stems, compared to the non-expanded tobacco stem, the total content of aromatic components was increased from 243.35 pg/g to 255.67 pg/g.
