At the end of May the Iraqi Oil Ministry published figures for the country’s crude oil exports in April, making some changes and additions to the preliminary figures it had released before (AOG, 16 May, 2014). The Ministry’s spokesman thus indicated that crude exports through the ports and terminals in the south of the country had averaged 2.5 million barrels/day during the month, which was the highest level since 2003 [Editor’s note: In fact, as explained in AOG on 16 May last, this was the highest level for much longer than that], whereas the earlier estimate was 2,409,000 b/d.
