East slumps, West flat in OTC coal trade

Eastern barge coal softened in US over-the-counter trade today, following equities and other energy markets lower while Powder River Basin (PRB) markets held steady. Nymex-spec barge coal for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2010 traded at $63.75/short ton early today, flat with last session, before slipping to trade $63.00/ton this afternoon and end the session at that level.
