Williams cuts capex, faces class-action suit

Inc. is slashing its capital and investment expenditures by $1 billion, or nearly one-third, for 2016, the pipeline operator said as it also faces a class-action lawsuit over its proposed merger with Energy Transfer Equity LP."The reduction in 2016 capital and investment expenditures reflects project deferrals, delays and cancellations resulting from the current commodity price environment, as well as sharply higher costs of capital," the company said Jan. 25.
