An end may be in sight for the steep slide in coil prices that has put a “crimp” in line pipe orders, Northwest Pipe Co.’s top executive said. Falling steel prices have “frozen everybody,” especially distributors, from placing pipe orders as they delay purchases waiting for the coil market’s bottom, president and chief executive officer Scott Montross said during a March 11 earnings conference call.
