Ohio approves $1 million to clean up idled UG Steel site

Ohio's budgetary oversight board has approved the release of $1 million from the Clean Ohio Assistance Fund to remediate the now-shuttered RG Steel LLC plant in Steubenville, Ohio. The city of Steubenville and River Rail Development LLC will use the funds to pay for asbestos abatement and the demolition of two blast furnaces, a boiler house and an annealing building.
