US EPA to convene expert panel to aid glyphosate review

The US EPA is asking an expert panel of scientists to consider and review several scientific issues related to the Agency’s evaluation of the carcinogenic potential of the herbicide, glyphosate. The EPA’s Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) will meet for four days in October and the Agency hopes that it will resolve lingering controversy surrounding the safety of glyphosate, the most widely used herbicide in the US.
